Eating disorders is a generic term for diseases associated with eating. Usually three diagnoses are made, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified), meaning that you fulfil some of the criteria but not all for anorexia or bulimia. All the conditions demand treatment and are conditions of illness with serious medical and psychological effects for the patient.
