Do you usually get bulimia when you have had anorexia?

About half of the patients with anorexia develop bulimia because the anorexic patients are seldom healthy when they leave the most treatment facilities, and they continue to have problems with food, body image and psychological issues. At the Mandometer® Clinics only 6% of the anorexic patients begin bulimic behaviour because the patients get treatment until they are in complete remission: normal eating behaviour, normal feelings of hunger and satiety, normal weight, no psychological problems, being able to claim that food and weight are no longer a problem, normal blood chemistry values, you must be back at school or work, no binge eating or vomiting over the last three months. These comprehensive criteria for remission make it likely that an anorexic patient does not develop bulimia, or relapse into disordered eating patterns again.
