Why do I keep asking my mother if she thinks I’m fat?

You ask this question repeatedly because her answer works just like a scale for you. Her answer and her tone of voice tells you how much to eat. Asking your mother these questions is a sure sign that you have no clue about what to eat and how much to eat; you have to guess how much and what to eat. It is also a sign that you are concentrating far too much on yourself and too little on other things in your life. Now it is time to interrupt these thoughts. Rather than saying ‘’ this is the last time’’ or ‘’only one more time’’, think that the last time has already occurred. Just when you are going to ask the question about your weight, ask something completely different. For example: ‘’Do you think I should have a haircut?’’, or ‘’Do you know what a prime number is?’’, or ‘’I would like to be able to speak Spanish,’’ or ask a question about something you have just read about or seen on TV.
